Designer Tinker Hatfield drew inspiration from the 1940s Mustang fighter plane when designing the Air Jordan V. Released in 1990, Jordan's fifth signature sneaker was originally constructed with a leather or nubuck upper, reflective tongue, lace locks, Nike AIR on the heel, shark teeth design on the midsole, and a translucent outsole. Over the years, the Air Jordan V has been released in many new colorways.
